Alex

Alex Lowy, CPA, CEO, Owner

Alex Lowy is the founder of Lowy's Tax Planning & Accounting, PLLC. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Masters in Taxation (MTAX). Alex is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA) and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA). He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northern Arizona University in 1989 and his Masters from Arizona State University in 2002.

Alex began his career in finance as the controller for several small businesses specializing in restaurant management, manufacturing, high tech, and construction. During this time he earned his CPA certification. For the following six years, he worked as a CPA with several local firms that specialized in construction, real estate and high net worth individuals. In 2002, Alex opened his own firm, Lowy's Tax Planning and Accounting. The Lowy Team currently services over 300 small businesses specializing in medicine, law, construction, and real estate; as well as over 600 individuals a year.

Most CPA's do time at a national or regional firm, then go into private practice for mid – large companies. Alex started his employment for family owned small businesses and professional practices, and then become a tax master to help these same folks. Through his extensive education (both traditional and 13 years in the school of hard knocks – owning and running his own business) he has developed an aggressive (and Legal) attitude of pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered attitude towards taxes. Alex is an entrepreneur at heart, having service business that helps closely held and family owned businesses and professional practices with bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and of course taxes – all kinds of taxes! Plus his very intimate knowledge of working with thousands of small business owners gives his business a very cutting edge.

On a personal note, he is the father of five children; Brittany, Tyler, Elissa, William, and Alexis. He enjoys spending his spare time at the family's cabin on Clear Creek in Camp Verde, AZ.


Mandy Cramblett

Mandy Cramblett, Office Manager

Mandy is the Office Manager and has been with our firm since 2019.

She was born in suburban Chicago but grew up in Craig, Colorado. Mandy relocated to Arizona in 2017 with her husband and two children. She heard great things about Alex and became a client and a year later she joined the Lowy Team as a Junior Accountant, then got promoted to Office Manager. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family.

Mandy graduated from the Colorado NW Community College with an Associates in Accounting in 2011. She is new to the tax preparation profession, but she worked as an office manager for 10 years. She brings meticulous and systematic billing professional experience with over seven years of bookkeeping experience. She has experience with various accounting programs including QuickBooks. On the weekends she enjoys being a Real Estate Agent in the West Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area.


Reyna Martinez

Reyna Martinez, Senior Tax Accountant/Production Manager

Reyna is a staff accountant and has been with our firm since 2015.

She has been in the accounting and tax preparation profession for over 13 years. Her concentrations are in tax planning, tax preparation, financial statement preparation, and payroll services. She has experience with various accounting programs including QuickBooks. Her industry experience includes but is not limited to retail, real estate, and agricultural industry.

Reyna graduated from the University of California Riverside with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting and is currently working on becoming a Certified Public Accountant. She moved to Arizona in 2006 and currently resides in the West Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area with her husband and three children.


Cynthia Bryant

Cynthia Bryant, Senior Tax Accountant Supervisor

Cynthia is a staff accountant and has been in our firm since 2016.

She has been in the accounting and tax preparation profession for over 25 years. Her concentrations are in tax planning, tax preparation, financial statement preparation, and payroll services. She has experience with various accounting programs including QuickBooks.

Cynthia graduated from Pellissippi State Tech in Knoxville Tennessee with an AAS degree in Computer Science. She also obtained a certificate in general accounting. She moved to Arizona in 2001 and is the mother of three boys. She enjoys music, airshows, sports, and spending time with her boys, her family, and her twin Pomeranians, Peyton and Eli.


David Crain

David Crain, Senior Accountant

David is a senior accountant and has been with our firm since 2018.

He has been in the accounting and tax preparation profession for over 6 years, prior to that he was a business owner for 8 years and in government audit for 15 years. His concentrations are in Tax Planning, Tax Preparation, Financial Statement Preparation, and Payroll Services. He has experience with various accounting programs including QuickBooks. His industry experience includes, but is not limited to Retail, Real Estate, and Agricultural.

David graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He has lived in the Phoenix area for over 30 years and currently resides in Scottsdale with his wife and dog.


Jonathan Ortiz

Jonathan Ortiz, Accountant

Jonathan Ortiz is originally from Hollister, not the store, but a small town in the central coast of California. He had first come to Phoenix with the sole purpose of studying at Grand Canyon University. Since then, he has graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He will be returning to Grand Canyon in the fall, to complete his master’s degree to become a Certified Public Accountant. Jonathan has enjoyed living in the city and has found his purpose for serving the Phoenician community for its diversity in the arts industry with both the music and culture. In his spare time he enjoys running, hiking, swimming, and cliff jumping. Jonathan has a passion for the arts, often visiting and appreciating contemporary and classic museums and the fine arts, while traveling.


CJ Palmer

CJ Palmer, Administrative Manager

ConnieJo (aka CJ) is the Administrative Manager and had been with the firm since 2019.

CJ was born and raised in Prescott AZ. and moved to St. Louis in 1995 and then to upstate New York in 2001. In June 2019, she moved to the Valley with her husband and son. She missed Arizona and so happy to be back permanently. She loves traveling, sports and is a huge NY Mets Fan.

CJ has over 20 years in the customer service field and a former Airline Employee. She plans on finishing her Business Administration and Accounting Degree. She attended Schenectady County Community College in 2018 and 2019 and plans to attend Estrella Mountain Community College in the fall. She is new to the accounting field but has been an administration assistant for 12 years. On the weekend she enjoys going to sporting events and visiting her family in Prescott.


Joe Pineda

Joe Pineda, Tax Manager

Joe is the Tax Manager and has been with our firm since 2020.

Joe is a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Joe is a CPA and has been in public accounting since 2001.

His public accounting experience includes accounting services and tax preparation for individuals, businesses, trusts, and exempt organizations. Joe is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants.

In his spare time, Joe enjoys watching a variety of sports. As a native of Chicago, Illinois, he is an avid Bears, Bulls, Cubs & University of Wisconsin fan. Joe also likes being outdoors and loves to go hiking, biking, running, swimming, and traveling.


Madison

Madison Carter, Junior Accountant

Madison is our Junior Accountant; she joined our team in 2021. She was born and raised in Chandler, AZ. She has her Associates in Accounting from Scottsdale Community college and plans to finish her bachelor’s in accounting at Arizona State University.

She is a mother to a little boy and enjoys traveling with him. When she is not working, she loves to garden, practice yoga, and rescue stray animals.


Ruby

Ruby Contreras, Administrative Assistant

Ruby is the Administrative Assistant and has been with our firm since 2020. Ruby started as a seasonal temp and officially started as an employee in November of 2020. She was born in Mesa, Arizona but grew up in Avondale, Arizona.

Ruby is a mother of a little girl named Evelina. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with Evelina. She is currently attending College to continue her education.
